Craft in Weekend with Reuse Materials

Hello all,

How are you spending your “stay at home” time this weekend?  Since I can’t spend my time with my family and grandkids,  I plan on having a marathon crafting weekend.  Hoping it will keep me from going stir crazy.

The project below was done with reuse and recycled materials from Creative Octopus, my local creative reuse and recycle center.  I purchased a couple of collage kits (from their online order and curb pick up service) and challenged myself to create something using these reuse materials.

Check out the step by steps in the Mixed Media Quick Tips Video below.

Take care!

Hello all,

Bringing you a twist to the altered bottle trend that is going strong right now.  This is an altered Avon bottle of a Haynes-Apperson 1902   Haynes-Apperson was a car manufacturer in Indiana that produced cars between 1896 to 1905.  Isn’t this bottle so cool?!?

I have a few more of these vintage Avon bottles that I am looking forward to altering.  I love how well this one Steampunk’d up!  For the step by steps, check out the Mixed Media Quick Tips video below (edited by Carri Sue).

Mystical Dragonfly Mask & Event updates

Hello all,

Happy New Year!  It is hard to believe that we have put another year behind us.  My Creative Schedule is already pretty full and that makes me happy.   Creativation is only a few weeks away!   You can catch me demo’ing at the Imagine® booth.  I am so excited!

Creativation 2020

Next on the agenda is teaching a workshop at the Idaho Scrapbook Show on Friday, January 31st.  I will be teaching a Mixed Media Workshop; creating on a mini-canvas.

idaho scrapbook show

To round off the early 2020 schedule, is the Utah Arts Festival Unmasked Event (open to the public from 2/7/2020 through 2/21/2020).  I am creating a couple of masks to be auctioned off at this event.  The first Mask that I have created is shown below, Mystical Dragonfly Mask.  The mask features Dew Drops for The Robin’s Nest.   Creating the wings were pretty challenging, but fun!  I hope that it will do well at the auction.  Mystical Dragon fly Mask.badge final wm

My busy Creative Schedule in addition to my full-time day job has proved to be a challenge!  I have had to rely heavily on my organization skills to meet my project deadlines.  Being busy does make me happy so, all is good (Especially when I can keep it all together. lol)

Happy day!
